WWII Shelters
Rounded Rectangle: In the Second World War, shelters were very important. Many people had them to shelter from the treacherous falling bombs. There were two types: Morrison and Anderson. The Morrison shelter was normally on the floor in your living room. It could also be used as a table. The Anderson shelter was the shelter in your garden. When the air raid siren sounded, you would go to your Anderson shelter (if you didn’t have one, you could use your Morrison shelter). You might take a few things to entertain you, like a book/comic or perhaps a soft toy. Sometimes, if your neighbours didn’t own a shelter, they would have to share yours. You might sometimes have to cram up to ten people in your Anderson shelter!
