Women in WWII
Rounded Rectangle: When men went to fight in the army, women were left at home to do all of the other jobs. Before the war, women weren’t expected to do “men’s” jobs, for example, mechanics, firemen, plumbers, electricians or gas workers. But when the Second World War started, that all changed dramatically, because nearly all men had to go and fight for their country. Some of the jobs left for women to do were:
1.	Mechanics
2.	Engineers
3. Tank drivers
4.	Building ships
5.	Factory workers (making bombs and aircraft parts)
6.	Air raid wardens
7.	Driving fire engines
8.	Plumbers
9.	Ambulance drivers
