Joey Artistry and…

The Case of the Sinister School!

A mysterious figure carefully crept through the dark, gloomy playground, carrying what looked like a large laptop bag. Suddenly he dashed into the school through the year six doors, disappearing in a flash. Two pairs of eyes had watched him disappear from a large bush which obviously didn’t like its residents… Its arm like branches caught in their hair and prickly leaves scratched there skin. Quietly they discussed what they’d seen and followed the man in!

Fidgeting intensely Joey ran through the empty corridors giving Sarah the hard job of catching up. As she sped through the corridors Sarah thought about the time before she Joey was born… She was never in trouble but she’d never had as much fun as she would with Joey. “Hey snap out of your daydream, sis!” Joey called whilst waving her hand in front of Sarah’s face. Joey’s mind was racing. It was full of questions: Why was all this stuff disappearing and was that man connected to it in any way?

The two girls strolled through the hall, both determined to find out why all these objects were disappearing. Suddenly there was a creaking noise behind them. They both froze. “Run!” shouted Joey, as they raced through the school, their hearts pounding; they could hear footsteps behind them getting louder and louder. “We… need somewhere… to …hide,” panted Sarah.

“The … care…takers cupboard?” suggested Joey

“Okay… let’s… go!”

So they quickly veered to the left and clambered into the cupboard. As Joey closed the door something hit her on the head and she found herself in a completely different world…

“Ow!” squealed Sarah and realised that Joey was pinching her. “Wotcha do that for?” Sarah asked still rather dazed.

“Look Sarah, look, look at the view!” Joey encouraged. It was truly beautiful! The sea lapped at the sand like a thirsty dog which hadn’t been given water for years, the grassy dunes stretched on and on, the land seemed to have a loss of human life whilst birds circled in the sky the sun dazzled the girls and made the sea sparkle and glisten! “It’s amazing!” stuttered Sarah, lost for words “I know” Joeys said happily squeezing Sarah’s arm. They both beamed and sat there gazing into the sky…

“Hello girls!” someone sneered.

“Mr …Williams?” the girls questioned.

“Yes I needed somewhere to hide all the stuff! But oh dear seems you two have foiled my plan.”

“We won’t tell anyone we swear!” promised Joey.

“No, no, no! I can’t just let you go; I’ll have to dispose of you somehow!”

“Please don’t leave us here!” pleaded Sarah (secretly wishing he would). “Actually that’s a good Idea… maybe I will just leave you here!” muttered Mr Williams as he strolled away and disappeared into the distance.

“Yes alone at last!” sang Sarah.

“Um… sorry to break the news sis, but how are we going to get back?” stated Joey.

“Good point,” Sarah said glumly as she sank to the ground, “Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea after all…”

“Wait a minute! We got here when I bashed that broom,” Joey whispered, “Maybe all we need to do is put it back!”

“Alright! Let’s get searching!” Sarah shouted instantly cheering up.

The next day when Sarah and Joey arrived at school a child in year Sarah’s year came up to them and said excitedly, “You’ll never guess what!”

“What?” they both asked

“Mr Williams has been fired!”

“Why?”

“Apparently he was caught stealing from the school!” The girls didn’t reply, instead they ran to the loos and giggled. Giggled girlishly grinning from ear to ear. “We did it!” shouted Joey happily.

“Yeah, yeah we did!” Sarah agreed beaming!
