Penny Pound and the case of the sinister school

As the two timed children wondered through the eerie, gloomy woods trying not to lose each other in the thick blanket of fog as it danced spookily around them. They headed for the isle of long winding knobbly steps. “I don’t like this, its wrong!” Poppy –Rose squealed. Goose bumps crept down her spine like cold, wrinkly fingers. As weird as it was they continued while they fastened their coats.

As Poppy – Rose Vase and Penny Pound army crawled along the damp towards the yr seven doors as the crackling lightning bolts flashed this way and that, as Penny remembered   why she was there . . . As they were packing their bags at home time they stayed back to look through lost property while they heard Miss Revill and Miss Jones complaining about flickering lights in the science lab but Mr. Pike knew there was a more logic and sensible explanation. As she awoke from her day dreaming she was being hurtled down the yr five cloakrooms would they come out alive?

While they slowly crept down the corridor they saw a familiar yet unidentifiable figure as it came closer they camouflaged them selves in the cloakrooms, while the mysterious figure strode past the noticed that it was Miss Revill. They thought she was trying to work out who was flickering the lights too. But she left into the hall. As they entered the science lab they saw a blurry out line (was it a monster or a ghost?) the flickers were too quick to tell. Poppy – Rose and Penny scarpered along the floor towards the cupboard, Poppy pulled out a jar with a pickled, slimy snake in side. “That’s gross!” Penny exclaimed. She wacked the monster round the face, several times “oww, ahh!”As it tried to get up. Penny chucked a bag of salt on it “we’d better leg it,” Penny muttered as they broke into a sprint.

While they sprinted down the long corridors back into the fog, they saw a man with a blinding torch; it was James the caretaker but he disappeared into the banks. “Oww!” Penny gasped as she got pulled to the ground by Poppy – Rose so they could not be seen. He soon cleared out the way. They scuttled away to the steps, hoping, they would be home in time and find out what it was on Monday.

On Monday they stroller down into the main playground with horrible memories of what had happened a few nights ago. Later the bell rang, after the register the teacher told the class “Late last Friday night Mr Pike got hit by two children with a snake in the science lab.”

“Do they know who it was?” Thomas screeched. There was no reply. At break Penny and Poppy – Rose gave each other a re4ssuring hug and a giggle.
