It
was a dark, mysterious and spooky evening as two, young, children crept towards
the school. Rose switched on her torch, facing in every direction, as if to
scare a monster. Rose sharply turned her head. “What’s the matter?” Rose’s
friend asked curiously. “Oh, nothing. I thought I heard something, but it was
just the wind!” Rose replied. The wind howled through the night as if it was a
scream. Rose’s friend was trembling all over. She tried to think of all the
things that happened last night, but she couldn’t! Finally she remembered…
On
Thursday Rose had art club whilst her friend, Lauren had netball. Miss Revill
was having an argument [once again] with both the Mr Williams’. “What’s the
matter with you; you’re always tricking us. Oh there’s a magical wood P.E
cupboard, oh my classroom has turned into the land of pixies!” Yelled Mr
Williams [deputy head]. “But honest, I heard the piano being played in the
science lab!” screamed Miss Revill [as usual]. “Yes, what’s so weird about
that?” “Well…uh…once I wandered into the science lab…nothing!” Stammered Miss
Revill. “Look just go home!” She finally awoke. “What’s the matter Rose?”
questioned Lauren. “Shh! There’s someone there!” Rose whispered. They crept
into the science lab. “Wh-wh-who’s th-th-there?” Stammered Lauren. She had
goosebumps all the way down her arm.
“Oh
no!” “Wh-wh-what is it?” “My torch has gone out!” “What!”
“Shh!”
“What’s
that noise?” “I can’t see anything!”
“Light
a candle!”
“Where
is a candle?”
“I
don’t know!” “Switch on the lights though!”
“OK!”
Lauren
made her way over to the light switch. Creak, crrreak. “Someone’s there!
Quickly, turn on the lights!”
“They
don’t work!”
“Uh
oh
“I’ve found a candle and some matches!” The
room was finally lit, but no one was there… It was silent! Suddenly…the silence
broke! The piano had started playing again!
“Quickly,
head for the door!” Shouted Rose.
“It’s
locked!” Screamed Lauren back.
Luckily
Rose had her torch. She found a spare key and tossed over to Lauren. She opened
the door and they ran for their lives but the still hadn’t found out who [or
what] it was. They were planning on going back on Monday but they both didn’t
want to. “It was scary enough tonight, so why do we have to go back on Monday?”
exclaimed Lauren as they were walking back from school. “Well, we still haven’t
found out who it is, but if we don’t we’ll just forget about it, alright?”
“Ok
then!” So Lauren and Rose sauntered back home. Luckily they lived next door to
each other so they weren’t alone. “What will happen if the ghost catches us?”
“I
won’t let you get caught so you’ll be alright!”
“But
what will happen to you?”
“I
don’t know, but I’m sure I’ll be alright!”
“See
you tomorrow!”
“Tomorrow’s
Saturday!”
“Oops,
see you Monday!”
“Yeah,
you to but remember to be prepared after school!” Rose shouted
“Alright!”
On
Monday they walked together to School [as usual] but this time they held each
other’s hand. “We need to keep Friday a secret, or else we’ll get into
trouble!” Rose severely said.
“Alright,
but can I tell my Mum?”
“No,
not this time, so I’ll meet you here after school?”
“Yes!”
So Lauren and Rose carried on with school as usual.
They
met each other in the same spot to strole home. At 6:00pm Rose, with Lauren,
went back to school, wearing black so they don’t get noticed. They snuck into
the science lab for their last time in the evening. The piano had moved! There were
footsteps, gradually getting louder…louder…louder until the “thing” was right
in front of them. Lauren still whilst trembling, her whole body covered in goosebumps.
This reminded Rose of what her mum had told her when they were out on a Mother
and daughter walk: Her father was working in the garage when a ghost appeared.
He threw a piece of wood and trapped him into the garage but they never used it
again. Rose grabbed her torch and threw at the monster, grabbed Lauren’s arm
with the key, locked the door and they ran for their lives. “Well that was a
disaster!”
“Thank
you ever sooo much for saving our lives!”
“It
was nothing! No really!” Rose, with Lauren, ran back home [once again] from
school. “I suddenly realised!”
“What?”
“The
“ghost” was Mr P’s father!”
“Oh
dear!”
“He
was about to collapse anyway!”
“There’s
nothing to worry about! He’s driving home now anyway!”
“Alright!”
It
was told that whenever you go into the science lab you can hear the piano being
played and a very, I do mean very, faint cry of Mr Pikes father. “Owe!”
“At
least he’s still alive!”
