Parkstone Grammar School is a specialist Science school. In March 2007 Ofsted graded it an "outstanding school." Parkstone is a six-form entry selective school with 1005 students from 12-18 of whom 300 are in the Sixth Form.
It has been providing a first class education for the borough of Poole since 1904 and the close ties it enjoys with the local community are evident in the number of Old Grammarians who play a leading role in the life of the town today. The school has been designated a Mathematics and Computing College since September. In 2007 the school was acknowledged as one of the 5 leading Maths and Computing science schools in the country and continues to build capacity in this area along with developing an outstanding curriculum for the 21st century.

St. Edward's is a joint Roman Catholic - Church of England VA school, it is an ideal size for a comprehensive school with 897 students on roll including nearly 200 sixth formers.
